Kickboxing Class
With the ever popular MMA, it only makes sense to compliment the grappling with some striking. The class is still in development, but we aim to make the striking class an applicable class, so it is not just a cardio kick boxing class. You will be able to get a workout and cardio from it, but it will be real world self-defense applicable, rather than just learning a choreographed dance with punches and kicks
What is required for this class:
Boxing Gloves ( atleast 12 Oz), shin guards, thai pads and focus boxing mits. Also, athletic shorts (no zippers) and a t-shirt or compression shirt.
Why Striking?
Where the heart of our academy is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and grappling, striking is the flip coin to self-defense. Whether you come in to practice for future sparring, or just want to get a workout in, it is essential to be able to defend yourself on all aspects. With all the advances in martial arts, it seems to be crucial to at least be aware of the martial art if you are not yet fluent.
